I feel dizzy and strange. A chap came round from the letting agency to do an inspection, which I'd been preparing for most of yesterday. I complained about rising damp and mould growing on the walls (caused by previous leaks through the ceiling, and condensation forming inside the single-glazed windows), and the fact we can't open the windows in the bedroom to ventilate it (because the frames have swollen in the damp). He produced some special mould suppressant and sprayed it vigorously over the relevant areas. While I am happy that the mould will be suppressed in future, the fumes from this stuff have permeated the house, especially the bedroom and living room where I can't open any windows...

Well, the leaks have been fixed, but he thinks one bit of wall may have already become permeated with moisture. It's not clear what can be done, really :-( It's generally a very damp old house. Do you have any ideas what they should do? I try to avoid drying clothes on radiators indoors, so as not to add to the dampness of the air, but in weather like this there isn't really any alternative.
