Jan. 17th, 2002 01:03 amWent to see "Rock Star" at the Warner Brothers' tonight with M. Very amusing; definitely worth seeing for metal fans. Like Spinal Tap trying (and almost succeeding) to escape from a Hollywood straitjacket. Some gratuitous sentimentality, and it's a shame the lead guy turns into Bryan Adams at the end, but still has some wonderful moments, in fact a lot of wonderful bits.
Then we both went to the Zebra and ate pizza there. MC turned up after a bit, then DG and mcv: it was the real ale society's first meeting of term. I don't normally get round to going, but I have more free time this term :-) Pleasant enough evening, though the conversation turned strangely to other people's depression, which eventually seemed to drive DG away unfortunately. The rest of us came back to mine for tea and coffee, and I got MC to finish off my dodgy spiced rum.
I seem to be settling down into fairly content singleness. I keep looking at people I know and fancy somewhat, and contemplating going after them, and then I think, why bother? I'm not that desperate.
