Dec. 11th, 2001 01:26 pmYesterday, met up with G for lunch at the Prince Regent during his break. Gave him his present, which he seemed pleased with. Unfortunately, he hasn't managed to fix his keyboard yet, so playing the games isn't possible right now. Some people from his callcentre were there as well; they seemed nice. One of his workmates had given him a new cigarette lighter, which he was very pleased with. G was feeling rather ill, so he came back from work to my place early. His work didn't mind, as he'd been remarkably productive already that day.
G slept in my room in the afternoon, while I did some Japanese and sorted out other stuff. In the evening, I made us a meal which we had with some wine, and G seemed to really like it. Then we went to the KSR, where the Monday night pool tournament was going on. Watched some very good pool players. E. was there, though not playing particularly successfully for once. There was a guy called Dom there, who was an absolutely fantastic player - it was great to watch. Some of the games were very tactical - no one potting anything for ages, just pushing the balls round the table in such a way as to force the other player into a foul.
After that, we came back to my room and drank a bit more, played VNV Nation, and had the Doom demos playing on my monitor. We just sat and chatted drunkenly for ages - it was really nice. G and I are getting on very well.
