President Joe once had a dream/ The world held his hand, gave their pledge/ So he told them his scheme for a saviour machine.
They called it the prayer, its answer was law/ Its logic stopped war, gave them food/ How they adored it till it cried in its boredom:
Please don't believe in me/ Please disagree with me/ Life is too easy/ A plague seems quite feasible/ Or maybe a war/ Or I may kill you all...
Last night, went to Kingston Arms very early to get a table (i.e. at 5pm when they opened). M arrived after a while; we ate. Later, other people arrived, inlcuding J, who I got on with surprisingly well. GT was over-friendly afterwards, but I tried to put him off. Some of us went back to House! afterwards, where ST, C and particularly TF were more-than-usually friendly to me.
Today, bummed around doing not much. Had bath; did accursed laundry; found book token that G left in my room last December and posted it to him; went shopping in Sainsbury's; listened to Radio 4; drew pictures of dragons (I am obviously regressing to my childhood).
pm, on irc saw people looking for stuff to do. M mentioned the film Mulholland Drive; I looked it up and said I wouldn't mind seeing it; within 30 seconds we arranged a time and place to meet. Saw the film; it was pretty good but deeply strange, though I guess one should expect that from Lynch. Afterwards, M came back to my room for tea, wine, Christmas Galliano, spiced rum, Doom demos and lots of heavy metal. Chatted much; got very drunk. All was cool.
We passed upon the stair; we spoke of was and when...

Come on strong, girl/ I've laid a heavy trip on me/ The church of man love/ Is such a holy place to be/ Baby, baby/ Make me know you really care/ Make me jump into the air/
Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe/ Put your ray-gun to my head/ Press your space face close to mine, love/ Freak out in a moon-age daydream, oh yeah
Keep your mouth shut/ And listen to the world inside/ Keep your head on/ And open up your eyes real wide/ Keep the ......./ Let the vision flow inside/ There isn't any room to hide...

Vyvyan trips with the beautiful music.

Christ, I was drunk last night. Very strange last two entries :-) Today, finally received the accounts for the SF society, to audit. Hopefully we won't be deregistered for being late.
Later today, will make exciting stir-fry, dress up a bit, and then head off to the rocksoc-organised gig at the Boat Race - two metal/punk/dark/whatever bands are playing, called Viagra Falls and Pretty Vacant. M may well be there. After that, I think some of my geek friends are organising an emergency lack-of-party party, at one of the shared houses in Cambridge. So I'll probably go to that later. Jolly good, that's my Saturday night sorted then.
