Gosh, it's wet out there. The poor guys on the building site opposite our flat are all huddled under the edge of the council building, and the sandy holes they've dug are filling up with water. It's very interesting watching them work on this project - the Bath House Forecourt Refurbishment. Usually, it's builders who get to look down on non-builders from the height of scaffolding; here, they're working at ground level, and I'm looking down on them from the attic flat on the other side of the road :-) It's amusing seeing the redevelopment take shape: a few days ago they were breaking up a particular paving slab apparently picked randomly from the middle of the forecourt, while being very careful not to damage the adjacent ones. I wondered if they needed to access something underneath the slab. The next day, they had removed about eight slabs, all separate from each other in the patio, in an odd sort of pattern. G thought they might be improving the foundations for the patio - perhaps certain slabs had been laid incorrectly the first time. The third day

- my God, something just sparkled and crackled in the air right next to me as that last thunderclap occurred! -

the third day, I saw them placing an angled tube of metal in two of the holes, boggled briefly, and suddenly realised what was going on. Bike racks! They're installing bike racks on the forecourt :-)

G's been off in Welwyn today, fixing his parents' computer. I've been being less than productive; I've been cooking nice things, doing laundry, playing Starcraft and listening to Project Pitchfork. (Not all at the same time!) What a fantastic song In The Year 2525 is! I don't think I've ever heard it before. I was just listening to G's Project Pitchfork mp3s in order, and suddenly this amazing song appeared. I had to go and look up the lyrics, and listen to it 3 times in succession.
