It's been a good couple of days. On Friday evening, went to the launch of the Cambridge Revolution vodka bar, with G,
robinbloke,
_catharine_ and the delightful
uisgebeatha, who I hadn't met before. Drank many excellent vodka-based drinks (Parma violet vodka! Wow!), did unseemly things with L :-), and generally had a splendid time.
Last night, I went to the Arts Picturehouse's all-night screening of Alien, Aliens and Alien 3. Apparently this was the first all-nighter in Cambridge in 15 years (so what happened in 1992, hmm?) and was brought about with help from
nickovs and Alex van Someren (though I didn't spot them there). There were intervals in between the films, in which everyone surged to the bar, and the creperie were still serving after the final film (so I found myself eating a delicious asparagus, mushroom and cheese crepe for breakfast at 6.50am today). A photo was taken of all the "survivors" in the auditorium afterwards, and will apparently go up on the APH myspace page soon. (This reminded me a bit of May Balls, actually!) Filmwise, it was really cool to see all three back to back. I hope they run further all-nighters in future.
