Feb. 18th, 2002 04:01 pmHey, wonderful! My program's finished its run, and it's such an exciting result! It supports Indo-Hittite, which is really cool! Finnish and Hungarian link together quite closely, then there's an _enormous_ branch linking them to Indo-European, and the point where the lines join can be regarded as Proto-Indo-European. The first division is between Hittite and everything else, then Albanian breaks off, then Greek, then Indo-Iranian and Balto-Slavic in very close succession, then Germanic, finally leaving a core of Italo-Celtic! Wonderful! I need to go and collect more data now for the Uralic languages, so I can establish a point on the line which corresponds to Proto-Uralic (I just need to include Kamassian to achieve that, actually). Also I should get a list for Armenian, that would be cool, then I would have representation of all the branches of IE. I wonder where it would fit on my tree?
