Well, have been rather lax about writing here recently, mainly due to not being at college very much. Thursday night, went to G's place and did usual stuff. Friday morning, I finished Diablo! Diablo himself was really hardcore; I tried killing him numerous times in different ways - sometimes using healing spells (not really time to cast them effectively), healing potions (OK, but he still wasn't dead when I used the last of them), spells (eg. guardian and mana shield and teleport, but not really much good) and finally thought of just using my trusty bow rather than a sword and shield. Although my sword did more damage per hit than the bow, I think rogues must get twice as many shots with the bow as sword blows per round, so this was much more effective. I went with full healing potions again, and was on my 7th (of 8!) when he finally died. Yeay! Now I shall try to do the same as a warrior.
Also have been playing lots of online pictionary - it's a wonderful game: http://www.isketch.net/isketch.shtml. I often win out of the group I'm in, though there are several other quite good players. One, called Candy, and I have struck up a bit of a friendship through the game.
Friday night we went to RI's party in Fen Ditton (we walked, because it wasn't too far). Saw M and chatted to him briefly, also VC, KB and P (who is leaving Cambridge soon). Good party at first, but unfortunately G and I got into a terrible discussion/argument which lasted hours, and involved me ending up sitting on the kitchen floor sobbing and speechless, and G quite pissed off (and extremely pissed), and nearly resulted in us splitting up again. But not quite. Got taxi back; G stopped it opposite the Q8 so he could get some more money out to pay the driver, but in running across the main road there, tripped and ended up sprawled on the tarmac. Taxi driver leapt out and helped him up; G then spilt all his cards on the road, which the driver picked up and returned to him. We got back home in one piece, just about, though G had got quite bad scratches on his hands, knee and shoulder. He passed out on the floor for much of the night, lying on the duvet, so I had to sleep under the dressing gown.
Next day felt quite fragile, both due to hangover and emotional trauma. Played games most of day; in evening went to KSR for P's farewell drinks. Quite pleasant, though I stayed fairly sober at first which didn't help my socialising. B bounced up to me at the start, "all E-d up" apparently, and wanted to know the Latin for "It's fucked/broken" to use as a motto for his office :-) He also kept petting my hair, hugging me, and telling me how pretty I was. Later he apparently did the same to G :-) B is theoretically straight, but not at all choosy.
After pub, T and K offered us some pot if we could provide somewhere to stay that night. So we went to get a taxi back to G's with them. First though, they wanted to go to Burger King and have some food. There, T attracted some unwelcome attention from some youths (Barrys, as K called them - the female equivalent would be Sharons, which I now remember being a term of abuse at my school). So we went and waited outside for the taxi to get away from them. Unfortunately, they came outside as well, and hassled us (especially T, who was wearing a floor-length black PVC coat). They were very aggressive, but luckily there was a girl with them who stopped them actually doing anything. G and T were very nervous; K was very angry. Apparently this sort of thing often happens to K and T. The taxi came extremely late, but we were very relieved to see it.
Back at G's place, we drank some wine, smoked lots of T's stuff and watched amusing flash videos on the computer (also weird psychedelic pictures to accompany the music). All pretty cool. Got quite stoned.
Yesterday, played more games, went back to college for a quick bath, then walked to station to meet G. He was actually on time for once. We caught a train to Stevenage, where his dad's birthday was being celebrated at a restaurant called Cody's. Nice meal (Mexican style); talked lots to G's parents and Nan, especially to his dad about the Roman Empire, which he's very into. I hope I didn't offend him; he didn't say goodbye when they left, but G said it was just because he was very drunk.
Caught train back; walked to G's; soon went to bed while G played Science and Industry and other Half-Life mods online. Woke up this morning to find him still awake, having finished playing about 4-5am, and been unable to sleep due to adrenaline. He's asleep now, however, in bed next to me.
What a busy few days it has been.
