Sep. 12th, 2002 08:47 pmHum, recently I have mostly been playing Starcraft, shopping and making food. I really should get round to writing my end-of-year report for college, but I've been hoping the guy from OUP would reply positively so I could say I had organised publishing my book. But I guess it'll take him a while to read my thesis.
R came round last night. I made pizza (from scratch), which he insists he liked (even though I forgot what he said about mushrooms last Calling and put them in by mistake) and also chocolate ice cream (there was enough left even though I spilt some of it on Tuesday evening, as reported in my last post). We watched some Red Dwarf, and then he went quite early, being tired. G and I watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which we hadn't seen before. It's pretty funny, if you like Kevin Smith. (I quite like him, but not as much as many of my friends. My favourite director is (or was) Derek Jarman.)
In Starcraft, I have got further than ever before in the Brood War missions. I have done all of Protoss and all of Terran, and did Zerg 3 and 4 today. 3 was pretty challenging, but 4 was not too bad. I just made enormous hordes of guardians and swept across the map leftwards until everything was dead :-)
My parents are visiting on Saturday. This will be our first meeting since March, when they first met G, and before we got engaged. I feel strangely apprehensive. Silly to feel anxious about meeting one's own parents.
Addition: G has had a cold recently, due (he says) to getting soaked on Monday. He is mostly better now. He's been taking my Night Nurse medicine the last two nights, and says it gave him a trip and made him hallucinate. He wants another cold now so he can have more of it. I feel cheated - it never had that effect on me. Why do so many drugs not work properly on me? I was given morphine after my operation last year, and it had _absolutely_no_effect_. I asked for more, but they wouldn't give me any. And dope only has very limited effect on me. And caffeine makes me sleepy. Clearly I am an alien.
