Wow, what a great weekend! Friday night was roleplaying with a rather sleepy [livejournal.com profile] emperor and [livejournal.com profile] mobbsy - not much action, but oodles of semi-philosophical musing about whether we should go along with the instructions of a being which _might_ be a god and wanted us to do what we were planning on doing anyway i.e. overthrow the government. My character, Tate, had an overwhelming mental experience, induced by the being (which is probably indeed Anubis) which has converted him totally to its cause. The others are less sure, but not sure what alternative course of action we should take either. Next session I expect we'll come to some decision and make our move.
Saturday afternoon, L. came round and chatted for a while. He's a well-meaning chap, I'm sure, but unfortunately I find him simultaneously rather dull and annoying. Anyway, once he'd gone, we got ready for our meal out at Charlie Chan's. I wore the long black dress that G had got me, and long black satin gloves etc., and G wore his blue silk shirt and waistcoat and very tight jeans and looked lovely :-) Got a taxi there, and had great table next to the jazz stand. The musicians were wonderful - the singer was an absolutely ancient chap who rather resembled a retired accountant, but who had an incredibly smooth and young-sounding voice. I'm not particularly into jazz per se, but in that context it was just perfect. Had absolutely delicious meal, got taxi back, drank _ever_ so much wine and watched many films.
Sunday G was very hungover but manic at the same time. Sunday was my actual birthday (I'm now 28) and G decided we had to go out and do something, so he rang round various people and arranged to meet at the Mitre in the evening, at very short notice. In the meantime, we drank more, made a big lunch, ate chocolate, and played Dungeon Siege. On our way to the Mitre, ran into RK, who I haven't seen for a couple of years, but who I used to know quite well from CUSFS. Then [livejournal.com profile] zotz caught up with us, also on his way to the pub. We reached the Mitre and settled down for an evening of Addlestones :-) Later, [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke, [livejournal.com profile] mobbsy, [livejournal.com profile] lark_ascending and A, my old chum from college, all showed up and we had a pleasantly drunken time. R gave me a delicious-looking bottle of wine - thank you! At closing time, wandered back with GC until the parting of our ways, and then ... went to bed I think. Well, we must have done (not that I actually remember).
G is too ill to go in to work today. I have just devoured an entire box of liqueur chocolates (present from my parents) and don't feel too good either :-) Later I shall run various errands in town and get some books with the tokens G's parents gave me as a present. Mm, what a lovely birthday it has been - thank you!
