Jan. 25th, 2003 04:57 pmThis week I have mostly been doing OU stuff and playing online Dungeon Siege. Oh yes, and it was the Calling, at which
robinbloke played a most excellent set, and
zotz played The Laughing Gnome, to which I fear I danced.
On Wednesday, somewhat hungover, I had to catch an early train to Nottingham for a couple of OU meetings. They were quite interesting, and it was good to meet some other new tutors, but I was very tired when I finally got home (4 hours meetings, 5 hours on train, 2 hours wandering about and waiting in cold drizzle). Thankfully I don't need to go to Nottingham very often; my tutorials will be in Leicester.
I've been inundated with admin stuff to do with the OU; I ended up buying a printer because of all the materials I need to produce for my students; I sent out introductory letters to all of them the other day, trying to be encouraging (my job includes a pastoral role, rather than being purely academic). Two of my students have already got in touch about things, and the course hasn't even started yet. They seem very keen, which is cool. Oh yes, the course materials finally arrived on Monday, so I have some speed reading to do :-)
In other news, I've been applying for part-time jobs; I should find out about my book soon; and G and I have been playing Dungeon Siege a lot online. Finally we have found a game we can both play together, that we really enjoy! (Have been up till 4 or 5 am doing so the last few nights!) Have also been trying to meet up with
dreamingchristi,
technotom and
hallucinagene, but without success so far.
Tonight I shall make a four cheeses pizza, and we will embark on Veteran level Dungeon Siege (my character's level 54 now, so this is at last possible).
