Jan. 3rd, 2002 03:02 pmSat up foolishly late last night, drinking wine and doing online tests (mostly at http://www.queendom.com/tests/minitests/index.html). From which I discover that I am variously: not a bitch, mildly obsessive, realistic to the point of pessimism, have a slightly dysfunctional family, would make a model roommate, dislike taking most risks, lack ambition, am fairly moral, am not hung up about my body-image, am totally paranoid and suspicious, am fairly kinky and ought to have a sex change!
This morning, read some of "Raft". It's really good; reminds me of Clarke a lot, which isn't surprising, since Clarke apparently read it and gave advice before publication. The idea is that it's set in a universe where gravity is a vastly more powerful force than it is here, and this has repercussions on all levels. Some humans have got there through a sort of portal, and now are having to find a way out before their lives become unsustainable.
Got a reply from R - he sounds quite keen to join our Rolemaster campaign, which should be getting started again shortly. Excellent! Also, tonight, I'm going to the Winter Ale Festival, and have persuaded my chum A to come along too. Should be cool!
