Dec. 3rd, 2001 11:01 amHad a cool weekend. Saturday evening, went to the KSR and lurked downstairs for a while drinking on my own, since no one I knew was there yet. Kind of a raucous atmosphere - wrestling on TV, people singing along to Metallica, but it was good. After a bit, G. arrived and we drank for a bit. A few more people I know vaguely arrived too. Then G. and I went to see Storytelling at the Arts Cinema - very cool, quite dark film. Then randomly resolved to go to a party at P's place, so we caught a taxi there, having picked up some alcohol from my place. Party was quite good, though since we got there so late, several people I knew had left already. G. seemed kind of uneasy there; I'm not quite sure why. Then we went back to G's place and played You Don't Know Jack, a sort of pub quiz computer game, which G. won (partly because I only had a vague idea what was going on for most of the game). Fun, though.
On Sunday, got up about midday and hung around playing computer games, especially a deeply cool X-Wing-like game with better graphics than X-Wing. In the evening G. felt it was unhealthy to lurk in the room all day playing computer games, so we caught the bus into town and ate in Burger King, then got drunk in the KSR for a while. Played a game of pool with G. Although I am crap at pool, G. is not a great deal better. No one was around in the KSR, really - it was weird. Eventually E. showed up, though, having got back from a weekend in London, clubbing and buying music. He showed us his new acquisitions, and we chatted for a bit. He seemed kind of strange around me, but maybe it was just my imagination. Got a taxi back to G's place, via an off-licence, then shared a bottle of wine while G. played some more missions in his game. Had a nice chat. Not quite sure what happened at the end of the evening; presumably I passed out.
