Sep. 22nd, 2004 05:38 pmOn Monday I met up with
sesquipedality while she visited Cambridge; we went to lunch at Tatties with
claerwen,
j4 and
lnr. Afterwards I dragged C back to our flat where we chatted; G turned up and we watched some Black Books; then she headed off for geek pizza.
Today I went to MC's funeral in Girton. Many others were there. The service was conducted very thoughtfully, IMO, and the woman giving the sermon struck me as immensely kind. Afterwards we went into the churchyard where the coffin was lowered into the ground; this seemed the saddest moment. From the words of the committal:
Into the freedom of wind, rain and sunshine
We let you go
Into the infinite array of the stars and planets
We let you go
