I seem to be in an argumentative, spiky sort of mood atm, regarding online activity. (Lots of linguistic posts to cam.misc, mainly.) I shall probably regret it soon, have a crisis of self-confidence, and fall back into my usual state of mute irritation at people enthusiastically posting nonsense about subjects they know nothing about.

Seemed very reasonable and restrained to me. You could have written: "You're a blithering idiot spouting off a few inaccurate things you heard in the pub or read on some random website somewhere years ago," which is what most cam.miscers would have done.
