Oh how silly. Now the BBC website's "English" test is being described as a grammar test in the link from the Magazine page. 3 of the questions are about literary terminology, 3 are about word meaning, about 5 are about punctuation (mainly apostrophes), and the rest are spelling tests. No wonder some people are so confused about the nature of the courses I teach...
