vyvyanxGot very little done yesterday. However, I did decide to learn Japanese, so went out and got some books and a tape. This should be cool. I learnt quite a bit of Mandarin Chinese as a child; I think a lot of the kanji will be very familiar!
In the evening, G. came round and demanded alcohol after a dull day at work. After a bit we went to geek pizza. Although G. hadn't expected to know anyone there, in fact there were several people there who he knew in various ways (C., who he role-plays with; I., my ex-ex, who G. had met at a party a while back, and so on). Cambridge is just too incestuous; everyone turns out to know everyone else by half a dozen routes. Anyway, the pizza was pretty good - we were at a new place that we haven't been to before, and though the service was a bit slow, the food was great. G. was desperate for a fag by the time the meal was over, since my geek friends are rabidly anti-smoking and so he couldn't smoke at the table. Afterwards, we picked up a couple of bottles of wine and went over to G's house to watch a video. The woman in the video shop was incredibly bad-tempered; she gave the impression that if we forgot to return the video on time she would personally seek us out and assassinate us.
The film we got in the end was Aliens, which we'd both seen before many times, but just had to be seen again because it's just the coolest film. "Game over, man, game over"...
