Hm, a rather busy few days. I have caught _another_ cold (this has happened at suspiciously similar times of the month in January, March and April this year as well; I suspect some sort of cosmic joke). My computer is very ill; possibly the hard disk is dying. I am reading Whit, which is hilarious.
In more detail, Tuesday night we went to the KSR due to lack of Calling, and I chatted mostly to [livejournal.com profile] zotz about the book Salt and other matters. Then G and I went back to Trinity and I got in a disturbed mood in the course of a drunken conversation about his former housemates, but all was sorted after a bit. Wednesday evening we'd invited [livejournal.com profile] technotom and [livejournal.com profile] hallucinagene round to G's place for dinner etc. After a rather delayed start (problems with buses meant they arrived about 3 hours later than originally intended) we had a really great evening; I made quorn bolognaise, with K's help, which everyone seemed to enjoy; we drank a bottle of wine and two bottles of Sainsbury's economy gin; we smoked stuff; I made cheese on toast for everyone; various computer games were played; we listened to music (and K and I drove G mad by wanting to listen to VNV's Structure repeatedly :-) - we watched Brass Eye on video; K and I chatted much about Stuff and Things. It was cool.
Yesterday, G had plans for a picnic, but T and K had to get back home, and I felt really ill with my cold, so eventually we just went to a nearby pub (The Green Dragon) and spent the evening there, in the garden. We were joined by [livejournal.com profile] alixandrea and [livejournal.com profile] darkgoblin; very pleasant chat.
Today we have various stuff to do: mcv is kindly coming round to look at my computer; G has to go and sign on (and hopefully sort out the ridiculous mess they've made of his claim); I have some photos to collect; I have to do my laundry; and possibly we shall go to the Electric Ballroom tonight, with [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke. But I may feel too ill for that; we'll see. Oh, why do I get so many colds? Bugger my nose. (On second thoughts, actually, don't...)

Thanks. Actually, looking back at my lj for this year, I caught a cold on January 17th, February 17th, April 16th, and now May 15th. Around the middle of June I think I shall drink lots of orange juice and get plenty of sleep, in an attempt to ward off any potential colds, break the pattern and thwart my cosmic oppressor. :-)

I seem to remember you mentioning that around the 17th was a bad time for you for colds; a strange cosmic lunar cycle perhaps? The only other significant thing about the 17th I can think of in Jan it's my birthday :)
