What is it about Parkside that induces random strangers to yell at me? First it was kids commenting rudely on my "Kinky Chick" t-shirt, then it was youths poking fun at my lack of tan during the summer when I had bare legs, now it's guys in cars screeching past shouting "Slag!" out of the window! And it always happens in the same part of Cambridge. Very odd.

Ah well. Recently I have been dividing my time between OU work for my two groups in Nottingham and Leicester (including one student in prison this year), rent-paying part-time admin work (which has recently required me to work out the answers to numerical aptitude tests so that my boss can use them more effectively with MBA students!), and sorting out material for book on English spelling (for the Simplified Spelling Society). And housework, and some free time. Actually, I completed Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna a couple of nights ago.

Today I bought new shoes, for the first time in two years. I bought some direct replacements for the everyday boots I got from Shoe Zone two years ago (funnily enough) because they'd fallen to bits at last. (I don't think it's a false saving to buy ultra-cheap boots if they actually last two years and only cost L7 to start off with. Also, many of the shoes in that shop are non-leather, which I prefer, even if they are doing it for cost rather than moral reasons!) I also bought some slutty stiletto-heeled boots with strappy bits, for G's amusement, which I expect I'll wear to the Calling on Tuesday.
