Ah, I'm cheerful now. Yesterday I spent ages writing long and moderately obscure posts about historical phonology, phonetics and orthography to a local newsgroup, and they were really appreciated! It makes it all seem worthwhile :-)
:-) Where would we be without you to inject fact into cam.misc's random wibblings? Though I can understand the "I posted a definitive article and it killed the thread" problem, having done it myself a few times now :)
