Toaster

My toaster died today.  It was given to me by my parents as a leaving-home present when I went up to Trinity in 1992, along with a kettle (which only lasted about a decade, I think).  It has therefore been successfully making toast for me, virtually every day, for more than 30 years.  RIP, faithful toaster.

RIP toaster. A very faithful service! I hope you find a good replacement. My main issue (which always baffles me) when buying toasters is getting one where bread from a standard UK supermarket loaf actually fits. You'd think this would be a problem trivially solved by now. Perhaps it is - I suspect it's nearly 10 years since I last tried.

We picked up a nice Breville one from Argos yesterday - it seems to be doing the trick. Pretty good size, looks sturdy, and doesn't overcomplicate the job of toasting!
