Well, the guy at OUP seemed interested in my book proposal, and has asked me to send him my thesis and some articles, and proposed modifications. Which I've just done, and is all quite exciting.
Last night, went to roleplaying with G, mcv and M. Good fun again, though I was very tired at the start - I perked up a bit as the session got going (as did G). After leaving Asagawa in hospital to recover from the attack last time, we returned to the conference centre to try to find out more about the leak in our organization. With the help of some mind reading and physical coercion, we found out that one of our boss' secretaries is a government informer, and has been responsible for the various information leaks concerning our movements. She seemed to imply that the government already knew about the zombies, and were possibly responsible for them in some way. I blanked her memory, and we released her, with the intention of tracking her later to a pub where she meets her contact.
Then we went to a sort of networking party in the evening, where we were joined by a remarkable woman who appeared from nowhere (and in fact, was mcv's new character from an Amber game!). She gave us some assistance when the party was attacked by another government hit squad, out for our blood. All automatic weaponry and magic suddenly stopped working, and G's and M's characters were obliged to enter hand-to-hand combat with the surviving attackers. G's character was particularly effective at this, finishing off several of them. I patched up various people with my godlike first aid skills, and then we departed. Still little news on the zombies, however.
So, all going quite well atm.

Have you played Amber much? The idea is amazing. I almost got involved in an email version once, but like all such games I find thinking about the simulation more appealing than actually playing... maybe I've just never got the chance to play with creative people!

No, I've never played it myself. But I loved the books - it's a great concept, as you say.
