I haven't written anything here for a while, have I? At the start of the week, I wasn't really doing anything interesting enough to write about (G was off work with a nasty cough; he spent several days playing computer games and trying to recover; I did lots of housework). At the end of the week, I was rather too busy to write anything. Anyway, on Friday I went out clothes shopping for the rest of my wedding outfit (the top I'd ordered a while ago; the skirt and shoes and gloves I still had to get). I very rarely buy clothes; it was quite a strange experience. In the end I managed to find exactly the skirt I wanted at Monsoon, as [livejournal.com profile] lnr suggested. To my surprise I seem to need size 8 now, rather than 10 as I always used to. Also, bizarrely, the shoes I got were size 4, while my feet have always needed 5 or 6 in general. I really can't believe my feet have got smaller, though I may have got thinner the last year or so. Maybe there's some kind of "grade inflation" going on in clothing sizes!
Anyway, got all the things I wanted, and tried them all on together when I got home. I'm very happy with the ensemble; it looks just like what I envisioned in the first place.
Friday night we went to the KSR and I chatted to various people: [livejournal.com profile] hallucinagene, [livejournal.com profile] hampsterboy, [livejournal.com profile] alixandrea and particularly [livejournal.com profile] olithered. After closing time, G and I polished off another bottle of wine and watched a film, I think.
Yesterday I spent much of the morning playing Sword of the Samurai, which is an old game, but great fun. I managed to get to be Shogun eventually. Later, when G got up, he tried to redo my roots, which have seriously grown out. Unfortunately it didn't go terribly well, and then we couldn't find anywhere still open to get any more bleach. We were planning on going to [livejournal.com profile] ewx's party that night, so I hunted round for something to cover the top of my head with. In the end I used a piece of black cloth which I just knotted round my head, Jay-style (from Jay and Silent Bob). I hope it didn't look _too_ silly at the party!
The party was great fun; saw and chatted to lots of old friends who I don't see so much these days. Met [livejournal.com profile] simonb, the only person on my friends list who I'd never met in person. (It now transpires we had actually met before, working on the cider bar at the beer festival this summer!) He seemed very keen to give massages at the party :-)
Today I walked in the rain to big Sainsbury's to get more bleach. Hopefully my hair will look a bit better tomorrow!

Don't worry, you looked fine.

I think you might be right about grade inflation. I'm a size 14 in most clothes I try on at the moment, but Jan's got a lovely rather old green velvet skirt suit in a size 16 which I tried on the other night and could barely even fasten the waist of. Which isn't that surprising as my waist is 30in which is roughly what size 16 is supposed to be, they're just obviously making things a bit bigger than that.
