Nov. 11th, 2002 08:58 amGood weekend. Friday night I went to join G at Henry's bar (where I'd never been before) as someone from his work was having a leaving do there. Drank various silly cocktails as they had no cider and the cocktails were actually cheaper than pints. After a bit, G and I headed off to the KSR, and chatted to, um, various people. Um,
zotz and
kboyd and Marcie, I think, but it's a few days ago now :-)
On Saturday G and I went to Camden to buy him clothes for the wedding. Obtained some lovely things from Darkside, but somehow couldn't find any boots that he liked. Anywhere. In Camden. Oh yes, we also had a really nice Chinese meal. After a few hours' wandering round shops, went to the Devonshire Arms, where we found
zotz again, with
lhiss. So spent a number of pleasant hours drinking there and chatting to them. Oh yes, that guy Russell turned up too.
Towards the end of the evening, G wanted to go to Slimelight, but I persuaded him against this, which was probably just as well, since we fell asleep in each other's laps on the train home. Then perked up a little back home, and watched Battle Royale (again). For some reason I found it really funny this time round.
Yesterday we bummed around the house all day. G was in a bad mood to start off with, but seemed to perk up later. Oh, I got an email from my cousin Lee, who lives in Aberdeen and works on the rigs. He's never emailed me before, or even written me a letter. I was a little surprised to find that he communicates entirely in txtspk now :-) Mind you, I haven't actually seen him for ever so long now - my last memory of him in person must have been in our very early teens - I have a bizarre image stuck in my mind of the two of us in his bedroom, chucking darts at his poster of Samantha Fox on the wall.
Grr, today I have to try again to organise ferries for our honeymoon trip around Greece and islands. It's very difficult; the website lists various ferries that don't in fact seem to exist when one checks with the site owners (but it nonetheless seems to be generally acknowledged as the most up-to-date and reliable ferry site on the web). Argh, stress, I hate organising these things, and I'm so bad at it. How I ever worked in Personnel I can't imagine. And I have a doctor's appointment today, which I think I'll cancel, as the problem seems to have gone away now. Probably. I feel sure now that if I go, there will be not the slightest trace of evidence that I was ever ill at all, and the doctor will think I am a malingerer; whereas if I cancel it, the illness will instantly flare up and become much worse than before.
I feel seized by indecision and crapness.
