doogle and DE were supposed to come up from London and stay, but they were too ill or apathetic to actually get round to it. G was quite pissed off, but seemed to relax and enjoy himself after a couple of bottles. Chatted to sphyg and simont, who left early, alas; to Ferret and blackmetalbaz; and briefly to j4 and lnr who'd popped in full of enthusiasm after the Placebo gig next door. And had _long_ conversation with naranek about vegetarianism, animal rights and the nature of consciousness, which I enjoyed. Rather tempestuous night after we got back home (too much booze, as usual...) but all resolved in the end.
Recently I have been trying to organise referees for my Oxford application, trying to get the water heating in our flat mended (somewhat delayed by our letting agent's antipathy towards the electrician - she will do almost anything to avoid talking to him), and of course, going to the court to support J. That was a rather harrowing experience for all concerned, but I'm glad I was there.
Now I have lots of OU work to prepare and the Oxford application to send off, before Whitby next week and Eastercon following on immediately afterwards.zotz will be with us all the way, but I can't think of anyone else I know who's going to both.
