Apr. 26th, 2003 03:58 pmDear me, I don't update very much these days, do I? This lj was supposed to help me keep track of what I did when, for future reference (among other things). The last few months won't be very useful for that!
Today I was up unpleasantly early to catch a train to Leicester, where I gave my third OU tutorial. I was being monitored by my line manager in this one, which was a nerve-wracking idea at first, but in practice I managed to just pretend she wasn't there, and the tutorial went pretty well. Unfortunately one of the students is very disruptive - my manager advised me to do something about her in future tutorials. But how do I tell someone 20 years older than me to shut up?!
Finally got monitoring back for the first batch of assignments I marked. To my delight my monitor was extremely pleased with the marking - she herself awarded either identical marks or was one mark away from my marks for the three assignments monitored. Given the marks are out of 100, and it practice covered a range over 40%, this seemed almost freakishly close.
Otherwise, have been very busy recently preparing for this tutorial, marking the second batch of assignments, and reading Middle English. Am hoping for better luck in my Oxford application than in the Cambridge one! Also, of course, am very pleased about G getting work at Games and Puzzles.
Mm, beer festival not far off.
