Well, this afternoon I got round to ringing my parents at last. Mainly because my mum emailed me to tell me they have another cat at last! I'm so happy. Apparently, he's called Robbie (because he resembles Robbie Coltrane) and weighs 16lb. He is on a diet. They got him four days ago from a cat rescue. He had a troubled kittenhood (he is now about 3) and is nervous about loud noises, but otherwise extremely friendly. I am now really really keen to visit my parents again and see him!

I told my parents about not getting the jobs, and about G getting a job and quitting smoking. My dad was reasonable about the former, and very positive about the latter. My mother sounded devastated that I hadn't got the jobs, and uninterested in the other news. Frankly, I don't know why I care any more. It's just not worth getting upset about such things after all these years, but still I do.

Hell, I shouldn't post when drunk. I might actually say what I feel.

I will be there from about midday until falling-over time on the 21st and 22nd - my boss (who likes British beer, which is pretty unfortunate for a guy in California) just approved the time off, and mobbsy's offered me crash space.
