Last night I had a quite bad headache for several hours, which was odd, because I don't really get headaches (except very slightly if I'm otherwise ill). This was certainly the worst headache I've ever had, and I've no idea why I had it.

Yesterday and today I've been doing stuff at Games and Puzzles around lunchtime, after taking G his sandwiches. I mended some wooden boxes for games, made up some "fans" of collectable cards (LOTR and a Japanese-type game) to display in the window, and sorted several hundred LOTR cards into order (finding about a dozen rare ones which had got mixed into them by mistake) - which satisfied the obsessive side of my nature for a while!

I feel calm and happy atm.

First bike: never had a bike; can't ride.
First best friend: Adam, who I met when I arrived at Trinity in 1992, and who read a passage at my wedding in December. My first and only best friend.
First real memory of something: stumbling across a very dark room in Bristol into my dad's outstretched arms, in 1975 or 1976 (i.e. learning to walk).
First car: and only car - a red Ford Fiesta 1.1L, called Roger, which I drove all round Britain, and sold shortly after I came to Cambridge.
First partner: er, I guess really a mathmo called Olly, who I went out with for about 6 weeks in my first term at Cambridge. He's still around, actually, doing stats. I think he still hates me for breaking up with him in 1992.
First date: I never really did dates; I just hung around with people :-) I suppose I've been on a couple of Rag Blind Dates. They were quite amusing.
First kiss: a second-year muso at Trinity, called James, IIRC, on Thursday of Freshers' week (I was 17).
First break-up: I suppose James, not that we were together more than a few days! He broke up with me because I was too inexperienced, AFAIR. More seriously, Olly, later that term (that was unpleasant :-( see above).
First time you had sex: with a third-year called Ali, in the second term of my first year (I was 18) in his room in Trinity. It was his first time as well. We used the free condom he'd been given nearly 3 years earlier at Freshers' Fair. He had to put it on with his left hand because his right arm was in a cast (he'd punched a wall while drunk and in a bad mood). It was a very amusing occasion.
First job: general admin assistant in the Personnel Department of the company where my dad worked. It was a holiday job; I was 15; I got L1.80 an hour. My coworkers all thought I was very strange (probably I was).
First screen name: what? I'm not a filmstar!
First self purchased album: The Man Who Sold The World - Bowie. Probably still my favourite album.
First concert: Machinehead, at Rock City in Nottingham, supported by One Minute Silence, with [livejournal.com profile] kaet and [livejournal.com profile] mobbsy.
First funeral: my mum's dad, near Aberdeen. A very Presbyterian service. I didn't know any of the hymns.
First pet: my parents have always had cats; the first one was called Tuppence. She was black and white, with green eyes and a fierce hatred for all other living beings. She survived until about 18.
First prime minister you voted for: I've never voted for a party that won a General Election.
First piercing/tattoo: none.
First independent home: does college count? If not, our current flat is my first independent residence (after 10 years living in an institution).
First house/flat: ditto.
First credit card: don't believe in them.
First independent holiday: 2 week driving trip round Britain, in the car called Roger (see above) with my friend Sheila from Chicago. We stayed in York, Edinburgh, Kendal, Betws-y-Coed, Aberystwyth, Barry (near Cardiff), Plymouth and Exmouth. I drove about 2000 miles, I think.
First love: hm, probably IWJ.
First enemy: ah, so much choice! Perhaps Natalie Barnett, when I first went to school. Or, more seriously, Nanette Rasch (who fed her cat bleach, and put it briefly in the microwave to see what would happen. It went mad). Or perhaps Julia Dimmock. Or she-who-shall-not-be-named. Or Sarah Badger. But who was first? I can't remember any more. All these were my enemies by the time I went to secondary school. Funny, I don't seem to remember the full names of anyone else from my school.

(don't think I'll do the other questions; they're too boring)
