May. 26th, 2003 06:42 pmThis week G and I have been working at the beer festival. Very tiring, but good fun, and it means I get to drink cheap or free cider all day and eat free cheese! Saw almost everyone I know (or it feels like that, at least!) at the stall at some point in the week, but had little chance to talk to them due to having to serve people constantly :-)
My favourite cider was probably the Coombes Sweet (philistine that I am, I prefer sweet ciders), though the new Cassels single-variety one, Yarlington Mill, was very nice too (first to sell out, due to being local and our strongest cider at 8.3%) - and the Hendry Huffcap perry from Hecks was delicious later in the week.
I feel like I've lost a lot of weight this week due to being on my feet all day, bending down half the time to pour from the lower rack, and sweeping the entire tent three or four times between sessions. My trousers are certainly rather looser now than they were at the start of the week :-) and this in spite of copious amounts of alcohol and cheese...
