Oct. 16th, 2003 09:20 pmWow, the OU have just asked me to be a scriptmarker for the exam of the course I've been teaching this year. Earlier they told me they had enough scriptmarkers and didn't need me; now it seems someone must have backed out and they want me after all. This will mean marking 100 3-hour scripts in 10 days, on top of my other job! Foolishly, perhaps, I have agreed. My own OU course (as a student) doesn't start until after the scripts all have to be finished, so at least I won't be doing that at the same time as well. But I still expect to be extremely busy. I should get about L450 for the whole lot (including attending a coordination exercise in Milton Keynes), so I feel it's worth it - also I want to get a feel for what the exams, scripts and marking criteria are, so that I can give better guidance to my students next year when I teach the course again.
I'm still probably crazy for agreeing to this...
