Am I the only person on lj who detests these blasted cartoon icons with the crosses in their ears? Half my friends list seem to be using them now. I think they look horrible!

They were nice for the first few, now everyone uses them and they're just dull.

No, it's not just you that thinks that, though I'll probably keep my 'Badgering' one for a while.

i prefer icons that are pictures of the person, or at least recognisable as some aspect of that person (is your icon one of your drawings?). but the cartoon ones all look pretty much the same so i can't tell the difference between different people. i do quite like some of the well-animated ones, and would like to do an animated one of my own but it must take some time.

I wouldn't say that I detest them, but they do look quite similar. I keep getting [livejournal.com profile] briggsy (Image) & [livejournal.com profile] valkyriekaren (Image) mixed up...

Each to their own, I suspect. That particular icon builder produced cartoon icons that were rather too samey, I'll agree.

(but then, I can't stand the mood icon sets that LJ provides)

Not to mention the fact you can only have 4 piercings in each ear. I mean, *really* !!

Not so much horrible as somewhat lacking and _all the same_.
