Today I went to Nottingham for an interview, for teaching the new OU course E303: English Grammar in Context. It seemed to go quite well; at least, they didn't ask any questions I couldn't answer, and they seemed pleased enough with what I said. I still have a bad feeling about the result, though. Mind you, as G pointed out, I am generally pessimistic about such things, so my bad feeling doesn't necessarily say anything useful about the likely consequences! I was convinced I would do disastrously in every one of my GCSEs, A levels and degree examinations, after all...

Congratulations on your job! And thanks for the good wishes; I've no idea when they'll let me know, though - the OU are sometimes incredibly slow about these things, and pestering them doesn't seem to help :-(

It would be great to see you at the Calling, though G is really tired (and we're both quite skint) at the moment so we might not make it to this one, unfortunately. Hope to see you at some point soon, anyway!

What I am learning, and it is very hard, is to pester, leave messages and email them, remember personnel are generally crap so maybe email one of the people who interviewed you? Afterall, you are the right person for the job :) so they must act fast before you get another job else where!

Maybe see you both at another Calling or at this weeks Filmclub maybe? I'm also going to try and arrange something at home at some point so I'll keep you posted.
